Having decided to back up my hard drive externally "when I just get these couple of things up to date" Murphy's Law intervened, and I was left with no access to all my business and tax information. I fried my hard drive by plugging in the incorrect power source. Coming back home from an overseas conference trip, the last thing I needed was to be greeted by a non-starting desktop.
